The global garment industry, currently valued at a little over $1.5 trillion, is as destructive as it is lucrative. With the global challenges such as climate change, environmental degradation and resource depletion, taking action to promote sustainability is crucial.

Every year approximately 100 billion new garments are manufactured and 92 millions tonnes of textile waste is produced. This is equal to one truck full of clothes landing on a landfill every second.

Only 1% clothes are recycled into new garments. There is enough supply of garments in the world and, if we stop making garments, there is enough for everyone that can suffice for 6 years.
